A baby can come at any time in the few weeks near your delivery date, and its schedule may not be the same as yours! These are the things our baby experts recommend you bring to the hospital with you when your labour begins:
- -A rear-facing car seat: You will not be allowed to leave the hospital with your newborn, unless you have a Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standard certified, correctly installed car seat.
- -A nursing bra or nursing tank.
- -A nursing pillow.
- -Nursing pads.
- -Pads or disposable underwear.
- -A swaddling or receiving blanket.
- -Baby's first outfit.
- -A comfy robe and slippers or socks.
- -Loose and comfortable clothes to wear home.
- -A camera.
- -A well-stocked diaper bag.
- -Lip balm: for that dry hospital air
- -Entertainment: magazines, ipods, books, etc.
- Always follow the guidelines as instructed by your medical practitioner in preparing for your hospital stay
